I decided to use Twine and create a game of similar concept to A Dreadful Start. However, instead of having somewhat gruesome/scary concepts in the choices that can be made, I made my game more realistic and suitable for daily play.

OOTD is a commonly used hashtag that stands for Outfit Of The Day. With fashion being something everyone sees, regardless of whether they like it or not, it’s an important aspect of the world today. Additionally, I enjoy looking up the latest fashion trends, piecing together my outfits, and getting inspiration from other people. So, I decided to make my game related to fashion.

Here is the link to my game, give it a play! http://twinery.org/2/#!/stories/dfcc2086-8495-4df1-b8b4-b194c3c3abc5/play

I felt that choosing an outfit in the morning is its very own ‘choose your adventure’ story that repeats every day but can have very different outcomes depending on the day. Most days start off the same. Yet, the way you dress can change the ending drastically. Using this idea, I began my game with a typical morning with the first task of choosing an outfit.

Further into the story, the choices evolve into less fashion related but more daily events related decisions. Through this evolution, I wanted to portray how one outfit can change someone’s mood, someone’s confidence level, another’s perspective of them, etc.

Above is an example of another person’s perspective of the player changing, based on the selection of clothing they made in the beginning of the story.

I wanted to make the game as realistic and casual as possible while emphasizing the role of fashion in today’s society.
